After 25 years of claim-free service life of the Humidur® coating, reports show that the coating can last up to 50 years. The report attached even shows an undefeatable Humidur® against corrosion through time. This gives the coating a maintained vitality index.

- Applicable in one layer up to 1,000 µm or in multiple layers
The Humidur® corrosion protection was especially developed to protect existing steel structures in a marine environment. The coating may be applied in one or several layers up to 1000 µm and more. The layer thickness depends on the degree of corrosion. The recommended thickness is between 600 and 800 µm on existing steel.
- Constant research for new applications
To stay competitive in the market, Acotec does constant research for new coating applications. Coatings for potable water, superfast curing coatings and flexible coatings te reduce mechanical damage are all well underway after thorough internal testing and confirmations by independant research laboratories. Also the currently used Humidur® versions are exposed to most harsh conditions on test panels.
- Excellent adhesion strength onto the substrate
Humidur® may be applied at temperatures around 0 °C without losing its properties. The adhesion strength is very high (>20 MPa), even after 25 years of service life.
- Humidur® can harden under water and remains diffusion impervious
The coating can be exposed to water immediately after its application. This capability makes sure the DZI can be removed once the coating is applied. This saves a lot of time and resources for the owner of the quay. Inspections of the oldest projects show that Humidur® keeps its imperviousness over the years, which is necessary to obtain a successful corrosion protection system.
- Humidur® has a spray, brush and roller variant
To avoid the long-winded equipment setting, a simpler brush, roller and caulking variant has been developed. This is usually the quickest and easiest way to perform touch-ups or to protect the difficult to reach corners, angles, clutches and welding seams.
- Reducing down times for renewing / repairing the corrosion protection
The efficiency of the application of the Humidur® system, the absence of intermediate drying times and the few hours of curing after the application, guarantee a considerable shorter realization time of the total corrosion treatment. Repairs or touch-ups can be performed very quickly after simple cleaning and roughening of the underlying coating surface.
- Solvent-free / Ecologically friendly
Humidur® is a solvent-free epoxy coating system in accordance with “The solvent decree”. Next to its chemical, physical and mechanical advantages, the system is environmentally friendly and safe for site personnel. The Humidur® solution, including the proprietary mobile cofferdam technology, allows to reduce spills from the application to a minimum.
