HUMIDUR in mining business- Major copper and gold ESPERANZA project in Chile

- The Esperanza copper-gold project is located in Antofagasta in northern Chile at an elevation of 2100 metres above sea level. The project covers the area from the town Sierra Gorda where the mine and future concentrate plants are located to Michilla, where the concentrate will be stored for shipment.
Esperanza is sulphide deposit which will produce copper concentrate containing gold and silver by- product credits through conventional milling and floating process. Ore throughout is expected to average 97000 tonnes per day, first production is expected at the end of 2010,
The owner of the Esperanza project Antofagasta Minerals S.A (AMSA) has awarded Aker Kvaerner Metals in Chile an Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management contract to develop
their USD 1.8 billion investment.
The Esperanza project involves the use of new and innovative processes for a large-scale mining operation in Chile including using 100% sea water;
Acotec anti corrosion coating with brandname HUMIDUR ML will protect inside the sea water intake steel pipes .
Chile's energy shortages and the project has entered into an agreement for its energy needs from new power plants being built in the north of Chile.
