Acotec was awarded the project for corrosion treatment of the steel grid structure in the Leonard Tunnel in Brussels, one of the busiest crossroads in Belgium. Given its strategic importance, the project demanded a swift, tailored approach and was high on the radar of the government.
Acotec was chosen for its proven Humidur® Coatings, offering a fast, durable, and maintenance-free anti-corrosion solution. Work included grit blasting, coating the beam grid, sealing small openings, and brushing sharp edges. Pitting corrosion was treated for optimal coating. Access via scaffolding and aerial platforms made the workspace tight and challenging. The project ran from late 2024 to early 2025.
