DZI’s are also used for tubular structures such as jetty piles. Such DZI’s have similar properties and features as standard quay wall DZI’s but are built for a circular configuration. DZI’s for circular piles are usually dewatering 360° of the pile in one drysetting, preparing the pile for a full repair.
Each jetty requires a specific access plan and detailed engineering before each pile can be dewatered by means of a DZI. For specific situations DZI’s can be made floating, diagonal, oval or can dewater one pile in sections.
Each design includes the possibility of a strong current, high tide level fluctuations, buoyancy of the structure, evacuation options, etc.
